Looking for a replacement for much loved trekking boots. After years of faithful service, the time has come to give my zamberlan guides the fiery viking funeral that such a sturdy boot deserves. Long may they walk in Boot Valhalla. Long story short I need a new boot. The guides were perfect for me in every way but unfortunately for me Zamberlan Stiff enough to work but not like a Tibet. Same size as lowa. I wasn't to impressed with the dwr/ water proofness after a few weeks of hard hunting. But it was really hard to tell if the water was just going in the top. Out of 15ish pairs of boots they are the most comfortable I've had so far. Knock on wood. B.C. So far the best mountain boot I have used is the Scarpa Liskamm, Pretty stiff boot, but enough flex in it for wearing in all terrain. Able to use crampons with them is a must as well. I do have to say I am a fan of plastic boots for goat hunting and would love to find some new inner boots for my green Koflachs.
Looking at these or the Hanwag Trapper Elites. Currently running the Lowa Tibet GTXs. Thanks! JD . Jun 28, 2014 Hunting Southeast Alaska with Jeff Lund, Latest

Both are double stitched and were made in Germany. I have the Kofel (suede) for about 3 years and while they are very well built, they are more “entry level” when it comes to . 246 355 95 328 350 246 171 374 54
